It’s all about homeostasis
Our bodies naturally want to be in balance (homeostasis).
When we don’t feel well, experience pain or digestive issues, develop skin diseases, suffer from insomnia, frequent headaches, or depression - these are signs that our bodies are no longer in homeostasis.
Acupuncture can help bring back balance into your body by supporting your body’s unique self-healing ability.
How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture has been used for more than 3000 years to relieve various health conditions.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, our bodies hold a network of channels and meridians in which the life force Qi flows. This network of meridians runs along our fascia.
Fascia is a thin sheath of connective tissue that surrounds every nerve fiber, blood vessel, muscle, and organ—holding everything in place.
Fascia is also the body’s largest sensory organ. It contains more nerve endings than our muscles, making it a vital part of how we sense and respond to the world.
Fascia functions as a piezoelectric, viscoelastic communication network, constantly transmitting information throughout the body.
Acupuncture needles are inserted at specific points in our bodies into the fascia.
Qi, blood and body fluids work together. They nourish each other to keep our bodies moving, help us fight off diseases, and heal and repair our bodies. Acupuncture promotes the flow of qi, blood and body fluid so that they can work together optimally.
How big are the needles?
Acupuncture needles are made of solid stainless steel and they are as thin as 0.16 mm. All needles are single-use sterile needles only.
Acupuncture needles stimulate our body's central nervous system. When an acupuncture needle is inserted into the body it can activate the immune system to release natural chemicals such as endorphins and neurotransmitters to re-balance the body.
How many treatment sessions do I need?
Acupuncture has a calming and cumulative effect. The number of treatments depends on your condition, its severity and how your body responds to the treatment.
Acupuncture can be helpful to stay healthy and to supplement your healing journey.
